Tai chi allows me to concentrate on myself for 2 hours. I let the working week go during the meditation time and I have to concentrate on the movements so I don’t think about the other stressors in my life. It has definitely helped with my balance and flexibility too.

Over the last 5+ years tai chi and wushu has improved my overall body strength, flexibility & balance. Learning and practicing the various routines takes focus which is a great way of pushing problems and stress to the side for a while. Recently, tai chi and qigong was an invaluable aid in recovering from a back injury.

I especially enjoy Tai Chi Shibashi qigong as it destresses me and is preventative medicine.

My arthritis is much better, thank you. I came to your class after many months of worsening arthritic pain last year, it has been half a year now and my spine strength and flexibility both improved greatly.
Frederick Chan

Less back & neck pain, stronger legs and better balance and posture (I have previous knee and ankle injuries), better energy and vitality (recovery from chronic fatigue), less stress, clear mind and overall calmness, grounding, creativity and flow.

I can't do exercise that means dropping to the floor or involves lots of bending and twisting. I also have arthritis which affects my knees, toes and fingers. I have found that while I still operate like a total beginner, my flexibility has stayed constant and I am moving OK with lower risk of falls due to balance involved in the routines.  That is the benefit for me, apart from having a class to attend regularly which is a good discipline for me.
Penny Rawlins

I'd had pain and restricted mobility in my left shoulder for a number of years, but Term 3 last year fixed both issues and i've basically had no trouble since. In addition, early last year when I tried to cycle up the steep hill on Farnsworth Avenue, Footscray I had to give up halfway and walk, but a year later I was able to cycle the whole way up without stopping or even having to stand up on the pedals. I don't doubt that this is due to tai chi having given me greater leg strength and improved heart/lung endurance, even over the relatively short time i've been doing it, which is something like 10 months but with quite a few forced absences from classes during that time.
So many lovely people in the classes has lessened my (mostly self-imposed, grumpy-old-man type) feelings of isolation, and thirdly because, well, the classes are fun, even when our wonderful teacher is making us work our bums off!

I wanted to let you know the classes have really helped to improve the progress of my ankle injury. The rehab doctor is so happy with my progress. I am looking forward to continued training and learning so much, you are a great teacher and have a lot of patience with my learning. Thank you for helping me improve and get better each week.
