A Powerful Finale to Our Sword 32 Series

Our Tai Chi Sword 32 workshop brought Wulong’s two‑part sword program to a vibrant and inspiring close. Guided once again by Professor Lily Sun, Australia’s most highly accredited Tai Chi Sword teacher, workshop participants completed the full 32 movements of the routine and deepened their understanding of this elegant weapon.

A Day of Skill, Focus, and Transformation

Participants arrived with a mix of excitement and determination—some returning from the 2025 workshop, others stepping into sword practice for the first time. Professor Lily created the same inclusive, encouraging atmosphere that defined the first instalment, ensuring every participant felt supported as they refined foundational techniques and progressed into the full sequence.

Professor Lily’s teaching blended precision with warmth, breaking down each movement with clarity while emphasising the deeper principles of Tai Chi Sword: balance, intention, fluidity, and the interplay of softness and strength. Participants practised offensive and defensive applications, explored correct body alignment, and learned how to move with the sword as an extension of the body.

Building the Momentum

The workshop echoed the spirit of the October 2025 session, where students first encountered the foundation movements and the opening 16 movements. They were so inspired by Professor Lily’s mastery and generosity as a teacher. Many participants from that event returned, eager to complete the form and continue their journey with the sword.

Professor Lily once again praised the group’s dedication, noting the clear improvement in technique, confidence, and understanding.

“I am so proud of every student,” said Professor Lily Sun. “The 32‑Form is a beautiful routine, but it also asks for patience, focus, and a willingness to grow. You all demonstrated these qualities today. Your progress from last year is remarkable, and it makes me so happy to see your improved use of the sword and completion of the routine.”

Student Experience

The atmosphere throughout the day was one of focus, camaraderie, and joyful challenge. Participants reported feeling both stretched and supported, with many remarking on how the full 32‑movement sequence brought together strength, grace, and mental clarity.

Participants were grateful for this rare opportunity to train with a teacher of Professor Lily’s calibre, whose expertise in both performance and method elevates every session.

“I found it incredibly inspiring. I love tai chi ☺️💪☯️ Lily your technique is so technically amazing and fluid it is really incredible to watch. Thank you for your amazing teaching and support - I was so grateful to be part of the workshop.” Catherine H

It highlights tai chi’s role in supporting physical and mental wellbeing, fostering cultural exchange, and strengthening community connection worldwide.

Events across the globe—from Paris to Beijing to Melbourne—featured sword demonstrations, fan routines, and multi‑style performances, showcasing Taijiquan’s diversity and its reach across more than 180 countries.
